The following unique story comes printed as part of the product:
Based on a recorded interview with Ballyhaise natives Mairead & John Mc Cabe, These siblings who grew up on the land of the Agricultural Collage kindly shared their stories of growing up here.Their father Felix was principal of the Agricultural College from 1997-2013. Felix loved to take his children walking on the grounds and share his knowledge of Ballyhaise flora & fauna with them.. He loved to spot animals nestled in hedges. Mairead recalls him remarking on how cosy they looked “sure you’d nearly sleep there yourself”..
Felix particularly loved the honeysuckle flower and showed the kids how to pick them apart and suck the sweet honey from the petal. He liked to pick one when he was out for his evening walk and bring it home to his beloved wife Goretti.
This piece is a celebration of Mairead & John’s memories of growing up on the land of the college with their father Felix R.I.P(1948- 2016) mother Goretti & their other siblings especially their brother (my dear friend) the late Felim (1984-1999).. They are all a part of the Ballyhaise land.
