The following unique story comes printed as part of the product:
In the townland of Carrickmore, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan there lies a fort I came across it myself this summer. I later learned that this fort is believed to have been constructed for the purpose of defending Drumholme castle from the red coats.
According to the late Bridie Smith Bradys Article “ O’Reillys Castle Of Drumholme”published in the Anglo celt between the years 1922-1928 .
“There is a tradition that during the wars of James the 1st, the peasant females of Ballyhaise armed only with scythes emerged from the fort to defend the land. The warlike tales attached to Drumholme sound like romantic tales formed in a novel, never the less tradition holds that such tales are true.”
